The Green Marble Enduro Riders are a proud member of the East Coast Enduro Association. GMER is a club of off road enthusiasts from Maryland and Virginia who love enduro. We are individual members of several different clubs pulling together to host Enduro and Hare Scrambles events in the East Coast Enduro Association series to show our appreciation for the ECEA clubs that host the events we love to ride! Chartered in 1982, the Green Marble Enduro Riders hosted one of the finest enduros on the east coast for many years at Whiteford, Maryland under the direction of Don Kirkpatrick and Bruce Triplett. The GMER Trails ran all around and through a large quarry which was the only source of Green Marble outside of Italy, hence the club name. Shrinking trail sections and more houses forced us to look for a new site for the enduro, becoming the gypsies of the ECEA. Rod White took us to Tower City for a couple of years, Kathy and Wolfie took it out to Cumberland, and Kenny,Joe, and Jeff Fisher took it as far as Kitzmiller for a couple of years. Boy, that's a hike out there. Great riding, but even that dried up. The club has been helping the Susquehana Off Road Riders with the Foggy Mountain enduro for the past three years until finally for 2012, with the help of the Carlton family, the local fire department, and Chris Borger, we were able to find several landowners around the Three Springs and Hustontown area willing to let us host an enduro event for 2012 on their properties. That turned out great and that's where we are right now, cutting trail and planning an event for our other member clubs to enjoy for 2013. You guys deserve a good enduro! To all the riders in District 7 and the ECEA, we are always happy to have you and your friends along for our activities and invite you to join one of our member clubs!
