Bald Eagle State Forest

Bald Eagle State Forest (BESF) is about 3 hours north of Fairfax, VA in between Mcalisterville and Beaver Springs Pennsylvania. Tom Heimbach's Father (Paul) has property about 5 minutes from the BESF trail head, contact Tom if you are interested in a road trip... there's some good riding behind Pauls home on Shade Mountain. There are about 35-40 miles of (some pretty technical) trails at BESF. No riding alone, some dropoffs are dangerous. Terrain is kinda like Taskers Gap but a little less rocky
Trails are well maintained. Trail map is OUT OF DATE  Pay attention to blazes on trails. Scenic views are breathtaking

Directions to BESF trail head
Take 15 North from Frederick Md towards Harrisburg
Just before you get to Camp Hill, take the bypass to I-81 north (if you miss this don't worry...  15 will end at 11/15... just take a left onto 11/15 when 15 ends... if you don't, you'll end up in the river... ;))
Take I-81 North to 11/15 North
Follow 11/15 to 322 West towards State College
Get off at 333 Thompsontown
At the end of the exit ramp turn right
333 will turn into 235
Follow 235 to Mcalisterville
Once in Mcalisterville, turn right at light onto 35
Go about 200 yards and turn left onto 235
Take 235 up the mountain and the trail head will be on your right in a few miles
